We took the children up Rock Creek for a swim this past weekend.  We and our friends were swimming and noticed a very large salmon swimming near us.  When it swam, it was rolling and we noticed it was injured.  Everyone got onto the bank to get a good look at this beautiful creature.  As we stood there, it swam right to us!  It was in really bad shape.  The wounds were deep.  Many suggestions were made for how it sustained the life ending injury… My guess would be a predator.  It is a great shame that she would not live long enough to lay her eggs.
